Tapestry woven on a 4-harness floor loom.
I was the sole witness to a double homicide in downtown Oakland in 2008. In response to some recurring nightmares, I created this work.
In the bad dreams, someone appears and hides me from harm. They hover above the scene in a dream-like state.
The night it happened, I could hear the gunshots amongst the stampede of people running from the gunman.
I could feel the electricity in the air, and everyone’s eyes were wild, including the police.
